what the APPS DBA PERFORM

Installation of application schemas which include all the application database objects (eg. Store procedures; tables and index)

· Import/Export of application database request;

· Planning, sizing of application data growth and on-going needs;

· Support hourly DB refreshing processes

· Performance monitoring and reporting issues to various support teams;

· Provide DBA support and consultation to CGI AMS team.

· Troubleshoot production database related incidents

· Perform database reorganization as required to improve database performance

· Co-ordinate application of Oracle alerts with IBM DBC;

· Maintain application specific cleanups scripts and scheduling them for routine runs.

· Support regular database maintenance activities

· Participate in servicing database audit request

• Oracle Application and Database Cloning which includes all categories

• Upgrade /Migration

• Monitoring Database and Application Instances

• Proactive Monitoring of the Database, Application and Knowledge about monitoring tools

• Use of Code Moving Tools like Kintana

• Performance Monitoring and Collection – Staspack , AWR

• Knowledge and usage of OEM, OAM

• Documenting the Solution and work with Project Lead on the Deliverables

• Effectively communicate and define technology considerations within the context of business requirements.

• Maintain effective working relationships with Colleques and customers and third party service providers.

• Mentor junior staff on technology and best practices

• Ability to anticipate and proactively manage issues before they become major problems

• Advance Configuration setup

• Advance Configuration like DMZ
